Combattant un cancer depuis 2020, Mimi Parker, membre fondatrice de la formation rock de longue forme Low avec son partenaire Alan Sparhawk, s'est éteinte dimanche dernier.
C'est Sparhawk qui en a fait l'annonce via le Twitter de Low :
« Friends, it’s hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but She passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing. »
Formé en 1993 au Minnesota, le groupe a fait paraître 13 albums, dont son plus récent, le magistral HEY WHAT, l'an dernier. Alliant bruit et beauté, il poursuivait le sillon drone entamé avec Double Negative en 2018 et c'était d'une puissance cathartique. Revisitons-le en hommage à Parker.
